A story from our creative captain…

When I was a kid I used to BMX race.

I had a very well known rider as a friend, neighbor and mentor.
 
His name was Miles.
 
He had trophies and plaques all over his house and had been around the world with his bike and number plate.
 
Miles took me under the wing and taught me a lot about racing as a young boy.
 
One of the lessons I remember most was the gate technique.
He would spends hours every week practicing this.
 
I would have never imagined that good ole Miles would be teaching me one of the most important lessons of my life by standing up on his bike and snapping out of the practice gate he had in his driveway everyday.
 
This lesson has proven time and time again to hold true in almost every aspect of life for me, especially business.
 
This lesson was about how you come out of the gate.
 
As my old friend was teaching me a racing technique, little did he know his lessons would turn into a life long perspective and approach.
 
Allow me to rewind back in time…
 
All the riders are all lined up on their bikes waiting for the light to flash green and the flag to drop, signaling the start of the race.
It’s an intense moment.
The competition is on all of our faces.
Beep beep beeeeeeep!
The Flag drops and green light flashes.
 
The one who comes out of the gate strong has a much higher chance of winning that race.
You don’t have to be the fastest.
You don’t have to have the most expensive bike.
You don’t even need to be the best rider to win the race.
 

75% of the outcome is based on how you come out of the gate.

24% comes down to how you maintain your place in that race.

The last 1% or less is luck.

Now think about it…
Isn’t that the case with a brand ?
